Our Philosophy
At Best Foot Forward ELC, our goal is to create a space where children feel safe, happy and motivated to put their own best foot forward in every opportunity presented to them. Children have unique personalities, learning styles and cultural beliefs, and yet every child yearns for a sense of community and belonging. Our staff aim to ensure every child’s individual strengths are realised while creating an environment of love, inclusiveness and quality learning opportunities.
Working in collaboration with families, staff and the wider community, Best Foot Forward ELC endeavours to:

Allow children to learn in a warm and loving environment through play-based activities that promote creativity, exploration and individuality.

Promote a growth mindset, that children learn from challenges and setbacks, using these as a springboard for growth and developing their abilities.

Use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)* as the foundation on which all activities and daily learning opportunities are built. This allows children to develop a sense of:

Belonging – children know they belong to a family, neighbourhood and wider community that have their best interests at heart.

Being – children know who they are now, that they have the opportunity to engage with others to build significant relationships and that they will be supported when facing life’s challenges.

Becoming – children will continue to grow and change and therefore need to be equipped with the necessary skills and resilience in order to face various circumstances.

Seek the support and contribution of our families. We understand that families know their child best and can offer valuable suggestions to support their child’s academic, social and emotional development.

Encourage collaboration and cohesion amongst our staff. In so doing, our service environment is filled with happy, well-respected staff who are motivated to put their best foot forward when preparing and updating educational programs and creating fun, enjoyable learning opportunities.

Adopt sustainable practices and reduce waste to ensure we look after the future of our local community and environment.
